Our story

Interelos was founded in 2017 to consolidate the extensive experience of its founders and associates in territorial development and socio-bioeconomy projects. Aerton Paiva, one of the founders, worked on the conception and execution of the One Million Cisterns for the Semi-Arid Region Program, by FEBRABAN, and Terra Forte, which implemented agro-industries in agrarian reform settlements. The associates' project portfolio also includes the Fundão Dam disaster reparation project in Mariana, Minas Gerais, as well as the development of strategic ESG projects in the private sector.

This history of participation in impactful and large-scale projects allows Interelos to practice a highly pragmatic vision for the implementation of sustainable production chains connected to the real market. At the same time, the institute works to create conditions for the empowerment of territories through education and institutional strengthening.

Since its founding, Interelos has worked in different regions of Brazil, including Amapá and Pará, where it supports the development of the açaí and fish supply chain, and in urban environments, such as the city of São Paulo, with the development of peri-urban agriculture. The institute also works on structuring actions, such as the Rural Education Program, which supports Rural Family Schools that adopt the Pedagogy of Alternation, and Parada Certa, a network of support points for app-based workers throughout Brazil.

The Interelos Institute is a non-profit organization whose main supporters and partners are CLUA (Climate and Land Use Alliance), Banco do Brasil Foundation, Porticus Foundation, and SEBRAE.
